Following Jonathan Cherry's July 2010 presentation to PR-Net, Londeka Mlawuza from Jupiter Cape Town kindly prepared these notes.

He also spoke about The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deeprak Chopra, which can also be applied to PR practices.

The Law of Pure Potentiality; Take time to be silent, to just BE. Meditate for 30 minutes twice a day. Silently witness the intelligence within every living thing. Practice non-judgment.

The Law of Giving: Today, bring whoever you encounter a gift: a compliment or flower. Gratefully receive gifts. Keep wealth circulating by giving and receiving care, affection, appreciation and love.

The Law of Karma: Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind. Choosing actions that bring happiness and success to others ensures the flow of happiness and success to you. Maintain fruitful relationships and in turn they will the same will be to you. He made reference to Yuppie chefs and how they started out helping each other with their different skills – and how even now they have managed to maintain the relationship.

The Law of Least Effort: Accept people, situations, and events as they occur. Take responsibility for your situation and for all events seen as problems. Relinquish the need to defend your point of view. Don’t try too hard to push for the story to be published. Always understand the consequences and be ready to respond to them.

The Law of Intention and Desire: Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment. Make a list of desires. Trust that when things don’t seem to go your way, there is a reason. Always know what you intentions and desires are and should things not go the way you desire or intend for them to, always understand that there is a reason. I suppose this is when you would find out what the reason is and rectify the issue.

The Law of Detachment: Allow yourself and others the freedom to be who they are. Do not force solutions—allow solutions to spontaneously emerge. Uncertainty is essential, and your path to freedom. Don’t dwell too much on the coverage that you will receive. You have done the part of getting it out there but now you must step back and let nature takes its cause.
The Law of Dharma: Seek your higher Self. Discover your unique talents. Ask yourself how you are best suited to serve humanity. Using your unique talents and serving others brings unlimited bliss and abundance. One must understand their sole purpose and feed that instead of trying to fulfill too many roles. This could be what makes or breaks you.

He also spoke a lot about the integrity that Cherry.Flava maintains when it comes to the credibility of their brand – and have steered away from paid for blogs.

He recommended the following books;
No Logo – Naomi Klein
Simulacra & simulation – Jean Baudrillard
What’s mine is your; The Rise of Collaborative & Consumption – Rachel Botsman
The Magic Faraway Tree – Enid Blyton

Tips that came up;
- Subject must tell the story and only limit the copy to one paragraph – less waffle but still avail more information.
