Nicole Chamberlin has a 16-year track record of extensive public relations, journalism and marketing experience.
Nicole has worked in numerous public relations consultancies as senior account manager and account director as well as public relations and/or marketing manager for a variety of companies. She has had strategic and implementation experience in press publicity, crisis/reputation management, brand development, media training, eventing, internal communications, promotions and team building events.
Clients have included: Virgin Active, Peter Stuyvesant, Old Mutual, Brimstone, Marmite, Sunsilk, Britesmile, Clicks Holdings, Richard Branson’s township gyms, Nelson Mandela Health/Human Rights Awards, Eskel Jawitz, Desmond Tutu’s 75th Birthday, Vered, Quintessentially, Paris Spa, Lion of Africa Insurance, as well as various sports and NGO campaigns.
On a qualification note, Nicole has a diploma from Wits Technikon in public relations and journalism as well as a BComm degree from Oxford Brookes University in London majoring in business management and marketing,
On behalf of SA Rugby, Nicole was recently tasked to drive non-sports, human interest-type media coverage to create awareness of the British & Irish Lions tour accumulating over R12.5 million coverage in just 4 months in consumer, in-flight, men’s/women’s and business publications. In addition writing and driving news stories in lifestyle sections of national newspapers, she set up morning tv talk shows, Carte Blanche, CNBC Africa clips and radio interview opportunities throughout the tour. She was also active in “Greening” the Springboks and SA Rugby union and managing the ticketing price crisis towards the end of the tour.
She’ll be sharing her experience on how to maximise non-sport related press coverage for an international sporting event that boosted our economy by over R1 billion.
